When and where is Crabfest?
Date: Sunday May 3rd 2026
Location: Salcombe, South Devon. The festival takes place across key locations in the town including the Chefs’ Demo Marquee, food stalls, and live music areas.
What are the festival hours?
Crabfest – timing – 10am until 6pm.
Do I need tickets?
The event itself is completely free. Food and drink areas, and the demonstration tent are free to browse. Tickets are required for entry to certain events including the Saturday Lunch hosted by Freddy Bird.
How do I get to Salcombe?
- By car: Salcombe is accessible via the A379 and A381. Parking is limited; use designated car parks and arrive early.
- By bus: Stagecoach buses serve Salcombe from Totnes, Kingsbridge, and surrounding areas.
- By train: The nearest station is Totnes. From there, buses or taxis connect to Salcombe
Is Salcombe Crabfest family-friendly?
Absolutely! There’s plenty for all ages, including live music, family activities, and tasty seafood. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome in outdoor areas but must be kept on a lead at all times. Please be mindful of food areas and busy spaces.
What food and drink will be available?
Crabfest features a wide range of seafood, local produce, street food, and drinks. The Chefs’ Demo Marquee offers tastings and inspiration, while local vendors provide freshly prepared meals, drinks, and treats.
Are there vegetarian or vegan options?
Yes! While the festival celebrates seafood, many stalls and demos offer vegetarian and vegan dishes. Check the stall signs for details.
Is the festival accessible?
Salcombe Crabfest strives to be accessible to all visitors. Main areas are wheelchair-friendly, and ramps and accessible toilets are provided. Please contact the festival team if you have specific access requirements.
Can I pay by card or cash?
Most stalls accept card payments, but it’s a good idea to carry some cash for smaller vendors.
Are there activities besides food?
Yes! Crabfest includes:

How can I support the charities?
Crabfest is a non-profit festival supporting local charities. You can support them by attending. Collection buckets will be available around the event. Tickets are required for entry to certain events including the Saturday Lunch hosted by Freddy Bird. There will also be the opportunity to purchase dishes cooked by our guest chefs which will be auctioned in the Demonstration Kitchen.
